- Sift your flour, baking powder, salt and yeast.
- Make a well in the bowl, add water a little at a time and mix into a soft dough.
- Kneed dough until smooth and cover with damp towel for 15-20 minutes.
- Re kneed dough and form into equal balls. Press each ball into a flat round disk. Once you have 2 disks of flour, brush melted butter onto one side and dredge lightly with flour, then place unbuttered disk on top of the buttered disk and press firmly around the outer edge with your finger tips making both into one single disk.
- Once you have combined all of your disks into pairs about 1/4 inch thick, you can flour your rolling surface and start to flatten your flour out to make roti. Use a rolling pin, or a large wine bottle will work just fine as well.
- Once your Tawa or your flat griddle pan is heated up go ahead and place one of your flattened flour disks onto the surface and allow to cook, once the flour starts to bubble on one side you can flip and apply oil or ghee(clarified butter). Once your roti is cooked you can place onto a towel and pull apart.
- Wrap in a towel to keep warm.
